Fish & Game New Zealand chief executive Corina Jordan resigns

Fish & Game New Zealand today announced that chief executive Corina Jordan has resigned from her role to take up the position of chief executive of the Game Animal Council (GAC).

Barrie Barnes, Fish & Game New Zealand chair, acknowledged Corina’s contribution to the organisation.

“Corina has provided strong leadership and made a significant impact in her time with Fish & Game.

“She has built and delivered Fish & Game New Zealand’s organisational strategy and strengthened our advocacy and engagement with stakeholders across government, the sector and the wider fishing and hunting communities.

“She has also led key initiatives such as the ReWild campaign and implemented critical improvements to Fish & Game New Zealand’s operational systems and structures. We thank Corina for her dedication and leadership and wish her the very best in her new role.”

Corina Jordan said it had been a privilege to serve as Fish & Game chief executive for nearly three years.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to have led Fish & Game New Zealand. While there have been challenges, the experience has been rewarding and has enabled me to grow professionally.

“Fish & Game has made significant progress but there is still important work ahead to ensure the organisation remains relevant and fully aligned with the needs of our licence holders and stakeholders. I am proud to have helped lay the foundation for this journey.”

Jordan will remain in her role over the next three months to support Fish & Game to deliver key priorities and the transition to new leadership.

Fish & Game New Zealand deputy chief executive Richie Cosgrove will lead the organisation in the interim.
