Wellington - Simply the best place to live, work and play

OK, before I get started a little confession I maybe a little bias. You see, I was born and raised in Plimmerton and have lived in the Wellington region and worked in the capital most of my life. However, I think the case I am about to put to you is a very compelling one.

Wellington the best place to Live

To start off we are based in the best country to live, everyone in the world knows that now with the current crisis. However, compared to other major cities Wellington has many advantages;

  1. We are smack dab in the middle of the country or lowest point of the North Island. Which means we can visit the south pretty quickly and inexpensively and we can venture north at any time. The temperature is never too cold (ok maybe 1-2 weeks of the year) and only very warm at the right time of year.

  2. If you love wind-based sports we have you covered. If you love sport we have your covered.

  3. Our city is big enough to provide great entertainment yet small enough that you can never get lost.

  4. Our quality of life is well-known, great Cafes, best public transport, world-class education providers, a great hospital, great gardens and a truly multicultural city (great people).

  5. The government is based here so there is always plenty of interesting work available either directly with the government or with one of the thousands of smart businesses working in the most interesting industries known to man.

Wellington the best place to Work

Wellington City and out immediate regional towns offer a range of work and business opportunities. This range includes developing a career in government to developing your own business supporting industries which include ICT, Gaming, Entertainment, Agriculture, Science, Engineering, Trades, Education, Law, Law Enforcement, Hospitality and Tourism just to name a few.

We have a load of opportunities for recent graduates as well.

Wellington the best place to Play

Because of our location, you will find nowhere better in the world to be based. Whether you are into water sports (including surfing, sailing, standup paddling, swimming, diving, fishing you name it) we have it. we are the hoe of the Cake Tin one of the best sporting facilities in the country easily accessible by train, bus, car and foot. Close enough to the city for awesome pre-game and post-game celebrations.

Wellington isn’t just for anyone, it’s for everyone. From huge cultural festivals to colourful annual pride parades and a thriving LGBTQI+ community, Wellington thrives on immigration and diversity, with Statistics New Zealand estimating around 25% of the people in the city being born overseas. Our rich cultural scene makes it as exciting for singles as it is welcoming for families. And if you've got kids, we have great news, there are more than one hundred playgrounds and parks in Wellington city alone. And that’s before you consider all the regional walks, treks, trails and waterfronts we have.

So if you are thinking about a move for work or business just come for a visit and find out about the magic for yourself.
